The municipal election, which was to have been held in Milton to elect the Mayor last Saturday for the town, failed to bring any results. The trouble appears to be that there are so many complications, by the reason of a positive knowledge just how the new law reads, and whether it is a law or not.

After a lingering illness of many weeks, Jacob Coffin, sexton of the M. E. Church, died on Wednesday, aged 52 years. Funeral services were held at his late home on Friday by the Rev. L. P. Corkran, and interment made in M. E. Cemetery. J. B. Atkins funeral director.

Matilda Walls, wife of John Walls, died at her home near town, on Thursday of general debility, aged 66 years, five months and 16 days. Funeral services at Reynolds M. P. Church on Tuesday, by the Rev. S. L. Stevens, and interment in the adjacent cemetery by S. J. Wilson & Son.

James Elwood Bruce Taylor, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Taylor, died at Ellendale on Friday last. The remains were shipped to Felton and buried at Barratt’s Chapel on Sunday. Deceased was aged five years, one month and 15 days.

Fred Welch is building an extra porch to his dwelling near the Mayor office. Possible for the more especial convenience of that office.
