Mrs. J. M. Kirby, of Philadelphia, after having visited her Milton friends, returned to her home on Wednesday.

Julius Primrose, and Mrs. Lillie Conwell, wife of Ex-Mayor Joseph A. Conwell, of Vineland, N. J., have been in attendance at the home of their sick father, Theodore E. Primrose. Mr. Primrose returned to the city on Thursday; Mrs. Conwell is yet with her father and sister, Miss Maggie.

Edward Sharb, of Philadelphia, is the guest of his mother and brother.

Herring was caught in the Broadkiln last week and offered for sale at 59 cents a dozen. Only a few were sold.

Some of our early birds have potatoes, onions and peas planted.

At the M. E. Church on Sunday the pastor’s salary was paid in full and the benevolent collections of the church were all met. Mr. Coursey left on Tuesday for conference. Mrs. Coursey, Miss Laura M. Conner and George Megee and wife will go on Friday.

Mrs. G. W. Atkins has a bible that is one hundred and fifty years old according to a letter of the legatee which accompanied the book. This volume was sent to Mrs. Atkins by an uncle, from Port Gibson, Mississippi. The volume is quaint, and has been bound three times. We think the book is older than claimed to be as we read an obituary under date of 1709.

The keel of the new schooner was laid on the 14th.

John Robinson was on Saturday evening elected Street Supervisor, bailiff and all the other offices et al. For the general work he gets $250.00 and for the collection of taxes, 8 percent.

James L. Collins died at his home on Atlantic Street, Tuesday, of a complication of disease, aged 72 years. Funeral services were held at his late home on Friday afternoon, by the Rev. R. T. Coursey, and the remains deposited in the M. E. Cemetery, by J. R. Atkins. Deceased was a veteran of the late Civil War and drew a pension of $25 per month.

Sarah A. Wilson, wife of Daniel Wilson, died near Georgetown, aged 71 years, 9 months and 26 days. Funeral services by Rev. W. W. Johnson, and interment by S. J. Wilson & Son.
