John E. M. Burton, a prominent farmer, died at his home in Long Neck on Sunday, January 19th, 1908, of Bright’s disease, aged 60 years, 4 months and 19 days. He leaves a widow, three daughters and one son. Also a brother, Alfred Burton, of Lewes, and two sisters, Mrs. Houston on Berlin, Md., and Mrs. Charles Lingo, of Long Neck. Funeral services were held at his late home at 2.30 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. L. E. Wells of Millsboro officiating. Interment was made at St. George’s Church Cemetery by S. J. Wilson & Son funeral directors.
