Rev. George Joseph Hooker (1880 – 1955) was pastor of the Milton M.P. Church from 1904 to April of 1906. A native of Baltimore, he graduated from Westminster (MD) Theological Seminary in 1903 and was ordained that year. His 1917 draft registration reveals a physically small man, 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 124 pounds.

One of his accomplishments was to initiate and oversee the significant remodeling of the Milton M. P. Church building, although he was transferred to a new congregation before the renovations were completed. He presented the middle pair of the group of six windows on the East Wall.

The Rev. Hooker served many Methodist Protestant congregations during his career until his retirement sometime around 1939. His pastorates included Baltimore, Pocomoke, Kennedyville, Denton, Seaford and Hurlock in Maryland; Alexandria, Virginia; and Washington, D.C. Circa 1905 he married Neva Margaret Hudson (1885 – 1957), daughter of horse-shoer Joshua M. Hudson, in Baltimore. The couple lived with her parents at least through 1910. They would have a total of four children, three of whom survived to adulthood.
